What ZeroWidth puts in your browser, and why.

This policy describes the cookies and similar browser-side storage technologies that ZeroWidth's websites and products set in your browser. It's a companion to our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies for two reasons only: to keep you signed in, and to remember your preferences. We don't run third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

A cookie is a small piece of data your browser stores when you visit a site. The site can read it on later visits — which is what makes sessions, preferences, and shopping carts possible. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, IndexedDB) work the same way from the user's perspective, and are covered by this policy too.

Cookies can be classified by duration and by purpose. We use both session-scoped cookies (cleared when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (kept for a set duration or until you clear them), but only for the categories below.

What we use cookies for

Strictly necessary

Cookies in this category keep you signed in across requests and protect the sign-in process itself against common attacks. You can't opt out of them and still use the product — without them every page would treat you as a new visitor.

Functional

Browser-side storage (cookies and similar technologies like localStorage) is used to remember your preferences and recent state inside each tool, so returning to the product feels like picking up where you left off rather than a fresh visit. You can clear this category from your browser without breaking core functionality; you'll just lose those preferences.

We do not use functional storage to identify you across browsers, build a profile of your behavior, or track you between sessions for advertising purposes.

What we don't use

No third-party advertising cookies. We don't run ads.
No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.). Aggregate product metrics are derived server-side from authenticated requests, not from browser tracking.
No social-network share buttons that load tracking scripts.
No cross-context behavioral profiling.

Third-party cookies on embedded content

A few features intentionally use third-party services that may set their own cookies during a specific flow:

Sign-in goes through our authentication subprocessor, which sets short-lived cookies during the redirect handshake.
Identity providers you choose (Google, Microsoft, etc.) set their own cookies on their own domains when you sign in through them.

These cookies are governed by the third party's own policy, not ours, and we never read them. See the Subprocessors page for the current set of third-party services that touch your data.

Your choices

Most browsers let you:

Block all cookies (which will break sign-in).
Block third-party cookies only (which won't affect our sign-in).
Clear cookies on exit.
Refuse specific cookies one at a time.

We don't operate a separate cookie consent banner because we don't set anything beyond what's strictly necessary or what's functional in support of an account you actively use. If your jurisdiction requires consent for the functional cookies above, your browser controls are the primary mechanism — and we recognize Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control where applicable.

Changes

When we change this policy, the effective date above changes. Material changes are also surfaced via in-product notification.
